Here we are, we pruduced a new home page and that is the one you see now when you click on a "home" link here in gimpgallery. Before this you had the splash page and the page you see clicking on the "enter the website" button was the home page too.
Now we have something different and this is because we wish to create a network of gimp websites where you have link one to each other basing on the main goals of these websites. So we made a page with news about gimp taken from gimp.org, gimpusers.com and gimptutorials,net, whe are using their RSS feeds to do this. So, if you click on a title of one of these news you will go to the realtive website, the link will open in a new window.
Gimpgallery won't have a news section on its own, whe are here to show images, animation, galleries, share thoughts in the forums and we wanted to make it easy to find out the others good resources we have in the web talking about gimp.
You see in the home page one enlighted image, actually it is chose by the team but we plan to make it work with a user's choice and then you have a thumbnail gallery made with the imageflow javascript down below.
We hope you to like it and tto find it useful, we will work with the other gimp websites to make this network work.
Because gimp deserves this great resources and we have to wrk together, each one with its own specificity.
Thanks to angela for adding some new images, i didn't have time to promote gimpgallery yet, this is gonna be the next task, if you came here register and add images if you have, we need to build a good archive before to go officially online!
