You need to be registered in order to see a link labeled "contact us" in the menu just above the footer of the page. Use that if you want directly contact us, otherwise you have a forum where to post a question or something else.

This is because animation could be just a simple gif or a gimp made video. If you have an animated gif choose the image upload field, this will work the same the "graphic drawing" does. But if you have a video there's something more that gimp gallery will do. You will upload the video but this need to be converted to a .flv file extension in order to be shown in a flash player. So you will have to wait a few minutes before to have your video in gimp gallery. This is normal so...don't worry and have a little patience!

These are kept separated 'cause they holds different contents and fields. When you have made a static image with gimp you will choose the graphic drawing content, but if you have an animated gif or a video you will choose the "animation" content type. We ask you to choose the right one 'cause we have separated sections for these.

login in inkscape gallery, your personal menu will appear in the right sidebar. Click on the profile link, you will see your profile page and two edit tabs.
Choose the edit-profile tab if you want to change some of the fields of your profile. If you choose the Edit account tab you will be able to change uesrname, password and the email you use to login in the website.

You have the opportunity to register with a username, you will use this to login in gimp gallery, and a different nickname, the name the other users will see. But if you want username and nickname to be the same you can do that, nothing bad will happen.
Just remember that you have to use your username to access the website, your nickname will not work instead.

Not really, some are requested, like "title" or "tags" and the decription field in english. Since you're not coming from italy you will not fill the italian description field. The license field is required, you will find help on the right sidebar in the submission page if you need. You might like to post the xcf source of the image too but it is not required.

Login with your username and password, you will see the first button on the left in the header changing to "post your graphic". Then you have to choose the content-type, if you are going to post an image related to graphics in general use the "your graphic work" content, otherwise use the "animation" content.if you're goinf to submit an animated gif or a gimp made video.

It means that you have to register with the account you prefer and then you will se the field to fill with your email address in the right sidebar, in the newsletter block.

It depends, every role has different permission and you may choose thinking about the way you're going to use this web-site.
Choose the "artist" role only if you are an inkscape user and you want to publish your work, we check the new users and if you appear to be an artist but you don't post works we will change your account giving another role. This is necessary cause of the personal profile and gallery that only artists should have.
If you choose "forum user" account you will be able to post topic to the italian and english forum, you can send and receive personal meessage but you can't post your inkscape files.
Choosing registered users is the right choice if you want to be able to see alla the content of the web-site but you're not interested in postinf forum topics and inkscape images.
You will be able to post comments, but you will have to wait for approvation before to publish them.
